Mother Hubbard's Cupboard's 'Share the Harvest', Annual Silent Auction and 'Cardinal Reads' fundraisers took place throughout November and December, in partnership with Bloomingfoods. These events generated $13,000 in revenue, helping MHC purchase three months worth of food for our food pantry program!
Thank you to all Bloomingfoods customers and staff who 'Shared the Harvest' and made donations. You made this event truly outstanding, contributing a total of $5,710 to MHC! The event also received support from the Cardinal Stage Company 'Cardinal Reads' program, with students in grades 2-6 participating in the Read-a-thon in support of donations to Mother Hubbard's Cupboard.
The Silent Auction hosted by the East and Near West Bloomingfoods stores was a huge success as well. With the generous support of local businesses, artisans, and enthusiastic community members placing bids, MHC's Silent Auction raised nearly $7,000.
We depend on financial support from the community to fund the majority of our programmatic expenses. On behalf of our patrons, a heartfelt thanks to all who donated and helped promote the event, including the student readers and the Cardinal Stage Company. Your thoughtful contributions support our work throughout this holiday season.
Mother Hubbard's Cupboard, Bloomingfoods, and Cardinal Stage Company honored the top 'Cardinal Reads' student readers at a family reception after the final performance of CSC's Oliver! at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater on December 31, 2007, also recognizing Bloomingfoods staff members who helped make this fundraiser such a success.
