New Wines at the Near West Side

Howdy folks, Here's an update on the new wines stocked at the Near West Side store.  All of these wines have been brought in since the beginning of May and they are all (in my opinion) delicious.  Our goal here is to find you those bottles that have exceptionally good value no matter what the price point.  Here are our newest finds, by category:

Organics:
Culpeo Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc (Chilean, $9.99 Once again I broke my personal rule about "critter wines"--look for the fox on the label.)
Chateau Laubarit ($12.99 Classically styled white Bordeaux that's affordable and organic!)

Argentina:
Revah Sparkling Pommegranate (At $13.99, this should be your summer date wine.)
Finca El Portillo Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc ($9.99 Many of us have been enjoying Malbec from Argentina for a while, but why are the South American Sauvignon Blancs so good lately?)

Chile:
Mont Gras Carmenere, Chardonnay (12.99 This Chardonnay is a thrifty man's--or woman's--Meursault.  Really good for the money.)
Misiones de Rengo Chardonnay, Carmenere, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Sauvignon ($8.99 The Sauvignon Blanc is already the best selling Sauvignon Blanc we've had at this location.)

France:
Jean Luc Columbo Cotes du Rhone ($12.99 The wines of Jean Luc Columbo speak for themselves.)
Escale Pinot Noir ($11.99 A Vins de Pays Pinot Noir that hits all the right notes and is soft on the wallet.)
Puydeval Rouge ($14.99 A must-try for folks who like big, complex southern French reds.  This is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Merlot)

Germany:
Vertikal Gewurztraminer ($6.99 Wow that's good Gewurz for cheap!)
Vertikal Riesling ($7.99 Ditto, just swap the word "Riesling" for "Gewurz".)
Vertikal Piesporter Goldtropfchen Spatlese ($11.99 Has a lot more going on than most PGs at this price.)

Spain:
Vega del Castillo Grenache Rose, Viura/Chardonnay Blend ($8.99 More great values brought to you by our in-town distributor of fine wines, Manolo's wines.)

California:
Tin Roof Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot ($9.99 You Merlot drinkers will be amazed that this much complexity can be packed into a ten dollar bottle, but that's the kind of stuff that happens under the tin roof).

Washington State:
Waterbrook Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sangiovese Rose ($11.99 This rose is the grooviest new rose we've tried this year!)

Here's hoping you get to try most of these in the months to come,

Cheers!
