2026 EarthFest Beekeeping for Beginners Workshop RSVP

Sunday, May 3rd, 2-3:30pm

Rain date: Saturday, May 16th, from 2-3:30pm

Learn the basics of beekeeping at our Beekeeping Workshop for Beginners with Jeff Becker outside of our East Store! Jeff will show participants examples of beekeeping gear, different hives (without bees), and a small observation hive (live bees that you can see, but they can't get out).

Jeff Becker is a Cornell University certified Master Beekeeper and a Great Plains Master Beekeeping Program Master Beekeeper. He is a member of The American Beekeeping Federation, The Beekeepers of Indiana, the Indiana Queen Breeders Association, and the 10 O'Clock Beeline Beekeepers Club in Nashville, Indiana. He has been keeping bees for over five years and currently manages fifteen colonies with his wife Amy. A&J Apiary produces nucleus hives, queens, and honey for sale to offset costs of the hobby. He has given many talks to the local beekeeping club on various beekeeping subjects, and enjoys talking about honey bees and rearing queens.

Please complete the form below by Monday, April 27th, to reserve your spot. RSVPs are required. There is a 20-person limit for this tour.

Once we receive 20 RSVPs, we will email to you let you know that you were put on a waiting list and will be contacted if someone cancels their RSVP.
