I've loved Bloomingfoods for over two decades. I am committed to leaving this world a better place which is evident in the career I've chosen, how I shop, and much more. Bloomingfoods has my heart and I want to give back to the coop for all of the good they do.

From 2002-2006, I worked at the Bloomingfoods Theater Cafe (located in downtown Bloomington), working with people from all locations, attended Rising Stars Cooperative Leadership training and worked closely with former board members on project development.

I was Treasurer of the Union Board at the City of Bloomington. I'm also on their HR Partners committee and a member of the Association of Animal Welfare Administrators' DEI subcommittee on Leadership, Leaming and Development. I've also played a lot of softball and kickball.

I work as a leader in a compassion field where I engage in difficult decision making every day. I am adept at assessing community need vs. available resources and finding that sweet spot in the middle. I have worked on numerous committees and am never happier than when I'm learning.

I am committed to the principles of BCS. I shop local, purchase responsibly and am mindful of my impact. I am a leader that works towards growth of my community and its people. I am passionate about education, outreach, animal welfare and environmental stewardship.

I feel BCS exists to empower the community to lead healthier, intentional lives. Through collaboration and education, BCS teaches our community to think about the impact of food systems on not just the purchaser but the people making the items, the animals being utilized and the land being worked.

As prices rapidly increase, BCS may face challenges to keep costs affordable (battling food injustice), pay staff fairly and retain customers and members as inflation impacts their pocketbooks. BCS has the opportunity to hold fast to cooperative standards, showing that even in hard times, principles matter.

Bloomingfoods is the first place I felt at home. It's where people who are passionate about this planet can find each other. The people I've met through the coop are some of the best around. It would be my honor to be a part of the continued missions of BCS.
